In 2017, Assumption President Francesco C. Cesareo, Ph.D. formally launched the public phase of Light the Way: The Campaign for Assumption. This campaign, which ends on May 31, 2021, had a goal of $35 million – the largest in the institution’s history – with the purpose of strengthening Assumption as a Catholic institution of higher learning steeped in the liberal arts. Since its launch, the institution has built two state-of-the-art learning facilities (the Tsotsis Family Academic Center and the Health Sciences Building) and launched a number of new academic programs, including cybersecurity and nursing. Assumption also established the Coronavirus Financial Aid Relief Fund to provide additional support to incoming and returning students whose families have been financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
